Vikes Summer Camp has 60 participants working on their soccer skills

JOHN, B.C. – The University of Victoria Vikes Summer Camp entered its fourth day at Dr. Kearny elementary school.The camp is run by varsity soccer players and had close to 60 Fort St. John residents participate.UVIC player and camp coach Isaac Koch explained that the camp focused on a different skill set each day such as passing, shooting and ball control.- Advertisement –Kids shooting during the 2018 Vikes Summer Camp. Photo by John Luke Kieper.Koch added that he’s been very impressed with the skill of the Fort St. John soccer players.“This is kind of a more elite camp then we do at UVIC,” said Koch. “All the kids know how to play, so it’s a lot more coaching then it is babysitting. It’s a lot of fun.”Advertisement Koch mentioned that one of the best qualities he’s seen from the players were their excellent attitudes.“Their attitude is the biggest thing I’ve noticed. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 to go on pre-orders today

first_imgXiaomi is putting up its phones for pre-orders almost every week nowadays. Although, people still have trouble buying the Xiaomi phones, especially the popular ones. Today the company is accepting pre-orders for the Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4.The phones will be available for pre-order at 12pm today on Mi.com. Although this has become a standard practice with Xiaomi, it also seems rather strange to open pre-orders at a pre-specified time. Ideally, pre-orders can be taken anytime, similar to how other companies do it.However, the Redmi Note 4 will also separately go on sale via Flipkart. The e-commerce site is giving a 5 per cent off for those buying the phone using Axis Bank debit cards. The pre-order is restricted to one smartphone per buyer.Here’s a quick recap of the specs, price and variants of the Xiaomi’s three phones.Redmi Note 4:Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4 during January in India. The price of the smartphone starts at Rs 9,999 and there are three storage variants of the phone. One with the  2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at Rs.9,999 while the  3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant costs Rs 10,999. Last is the one with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which will cost Rs 12,999 to its buyers. The storage is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.  The smartphone is available in  four colour options- Matte Black, Silver, Gold and Grey.In terms of specs, the Redmi Note 4 features a  5.5-inch full-HD 2.5D curved glass IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor. Redmi Note 4 is backed with a decent battery size of 4100mAh. On the camera front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP camera. The connectivity options on board are 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Infrared  and Micro-USB. The Redmi Note 4 comes with sensors like proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and electronic compass.advertisementAlthough this is good phone, something we said in our review, do keep in mind that it runs an outdated version of Android, which is Android Marshmallow that was announced in 2015.  Redmi 4A:The Redmi 4A was launched in India in March at a price of Rs 5,999. The smartphone dons a polycarbonate built and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.  The Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD screen with 720×1280 pixels of screen resolution. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC  clocked at the speed of 1.4GHz  and coupled with the Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The internal storage is of 16GB that’s expandable using a microSD card to up to 128GB.Redmi 4A features a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, f 2.2 aperture and  LED flash. There is a 5MP camera with f 2.2 aperture on the front for selfies.  as well. The Redmi 4A comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).The connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth v4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The Redmi 4A comes also includes gyroscope, infrared, proximity, accelerometer, ambient light sensors. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is powered by a 3120mAh battery and comes with fast charging support. It too runs on two-year-old Android Marshmallow.Redmi 4:Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4 was in May in India. The smartphone is available in three memory storage variants – one with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage at Rs 6,999, next is the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant at Rs 8,999, and lastly the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant at Rs 10,999. The internal storage is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.The dual-SIM Redmi 4 features a 5-inch HD display. The smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC clocked t the speed of1.4GHz. The Redmi 4 backed by a 4100mAh battery.The Redmi 4 comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with f 2.0, PDAF, and LED flash technology.
