Tenders Called for South Shore Paving Project

first_imgThe road to fun in the sand and sun at two popular Nova Scotia beaches will be smoother after the completion of a road-paving tender announced by the province. The Department of Transportation and Public Works called for tenders to repave Trunk 3 from the Lunenburg-Halifax County line for eight kilometres to east of the intersection of Cleveland Point Road. “Queensland and Cleveland beaches are two of our busiest every summer,” said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Transportation and Public Works. “This tender will result in a stronger, safer road for all drivers in the area.” The project is scheduled for completion this summer. The Department of Transportation and Public Works’ highways division manages more than 23,000 kilometres of roads in Nova Scotia. It maintains 4,100 bridges and operates seven provincial ferries. Staff provide services from district offices in Bridgewater, Bedford, Truro and Sydney.last_img
