Trustee Connie Biehl said she believed Dickerson moved out of the district. Dickerson, who was re-elected last November, could not be reached for comment. Whoever is appointed to fill the seat will serve until the next board election in 2006, and then would have to run for the office to serve the two years remaining on Dickerson’s term. Dickerson had been with the California City Police Department since 1977. His two children graduated from the Mojave district. Karen Maeshiro, (661) 267-5744 MOJAVE – Residents have until Nov. 4 to apply for an appointment to the seat on the Mojave Unified School District board formerly held by trustee Wayne Dickerson, who resigned Oct. 1. Applications can be picked up at the district office, 3500 Douglas Ave., and must be turned in by 4 p.m. Nov. 4. An applicant must be 18 or older, reside within the district and be a registered voter. The board will interview prospective candidates and make an appointment at a public meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at California City Middle School, 9735 Redwood Blvd. The board decided last month to appoint someone rather than call a special election to fill the seat left vacant by the surprise resignation of Dickerson.
