New Delhi: SDMC Mayor on Tuesday took round of six wards one after another to see for herself the status of cleanliness and drains.While taking round of different localities under these wards the Mayor noticed that the cleanliness work of a Ganda Nala has not yet picked up its desired pace. She instructed the officers concerned to complete cleanliness of all drains before the onset of the rainy season. She stated that un silted drains may become a cause of outbreak of diseases apart from water accumulation in the residential colonies. She visited Ranhola, Bakkarwala, Vikas Nagar, Dhobhi Ghat, Kali Basti, Vikaspuri and Mohan Garden, where the Mayor gave a patient hearing to the difficulties of residents. The residents presented a proposal for the construction of a barat ghar at vacant area. She assured that the corporation will consider this proposal and appropriate action will taken very soon. She also underlined the need of proper cleanliness and amenities in all SDMC schools. She asked the officers of the education department to identify deficiencies in the schools situated in these wards and instructed the officers to rectify the shortcomings.
